Frequently Asked Questions

How do restocks work?

My website (www.lalepottery.com) is restocked with new pottery generally once a month. It is the only place I sell my work!

The day/time of a “Restock” is listed in on my social medias and in my bio when one is scheduled! The day before a restock happens, I preview each piece with a price/item#/ounces on my social media stories so you have a chance to see it before it goes live, since THEY GO QUICK! (1 minute usually). Restocks are first come, first serve to keep it fair for everyone. Each piece is unique and one-of-a-kind! If you check out multiple times during a restock to make sure you get your pieces, I will combine your orders if SAFELY possible to help save you on shipping and will refund you the difference using your payment type.

Refunds & exchanges

I accept refunds or exchanges due to shipping breakages or issues with your order. It is quite a strain with the way I restock my shop to swap/unpack items/restock them. Be sure before you purchase! If something is broken, you must contact me within 24hrs of delivery!

Before a restock, I always preview items thoroughly my in a video in my story on Insta/FB for you to get a really good look of each piece before attempting to purchase it. Any “flaw” of being a handmade item will be noted. In addition, I provide detailed listing photos and a detailed description on each item. You are buying handmade, not mass produced items! I always strive for customer satisfaction and pride myself in having unique pieces and high quality craftsmanship.

Shipping/packaging details

I ship worldwide! ✈️ You are responsible for any international customs/VAT/Tariffs if you are outside of the USA!

I ship my work in a recycled box, with water-activated paper tape and biodegradable packing peanuts. The peanuts break down in water for zero waste! Please try to reuse these materials for future gifts/shipping, or recycle locally!

Your box(s) will be clearly labeled from La Le Pottery. Shipping is calculated by USPS charges exactly what it costs to have it shipped to you. Once shipped, your mug is out of my care and with USPS. If a pot somehow breaks during shipment, please contact me immediately to work on righting the situation! You must take photos and contact me about the broken piece within 24hrs of delivery.

Custom orders and reserving pieces

With the demand I have, I do not accept custom orders/reserves. Please do not ask, as I cannot commit. Custom orders are tricky for makers as we have to come up with a totally new design, test to see if it works, make extra in case it breaks in the process, & are unable to be creative! — In the same time frame of making 1 custom mug, I could make 5 of my own and be freely creative!

In addition, I do not allow people to reserve pieces they see on social media to keep it fair. I only do my restocks and occasional preorders/raff

You put me in an uncomfortable place when you ask me to change my policies and make an exception for you. What you see in my restocks is all I have available, and a manageable way for me to sustain this business.

Pottery Care

1. All functional pottery is food safe. I recommend running your pot under warm before pouring extremely hot liquid in it if it is super cold to avoid thermal shock which can happen to any item that contains glass! (glaze is glass!)

2. Pieces containing crystals are hand-washed only. Do not soak crystals in water for long periods of time. They deserve a hand washing!

3. Pieces containing 22k Gold are not microwaveable, as it is a metal! As for dishwashers, they are tough on overglazing and detailing, and you will see wear on the 22k gold from the abrasive nature of dishwashers.

4. Jewelry dishes with crackle glass infusion bottoms are for decorative purposes only! They are not food safe, as small particles of glass could get into food.

Wholesale availability

I do not accept requests for wholesale orders of any kind. Anything I sell is listed only by me. I make too small of batches and too detailed of work to offer wholesale accounts. I truly enjoy running this business and selling my work on my own! If that changes, it will be posted on social media platforms or their will be an option on my website.

Sizing details

To show the size of each unique mug, I title my pots in both my previews and listings by with the approximate ounces they hold. Most of my mugs are 14-18oz. For a standard, 8 ounces is 1 US cup of liquid.

All of my handles generally fit 3-4 fingers comfortably. When I refer to the ounces a mug holds a good “rule” of thumb is :

10- 12oz is an average size mug you would see in the store

14-16oz is above average

18+oz is stein level and can hold quite a bit of liquid!

Blog/social media promoters

I do not send free products for a “review” on your page to your followers. If you like my work, you may purchase it. I do not have the inventory to send free pieces with the demand I currently have, but I appreciate the interest in my work!

Preorders

I do not have preorders available generally. When I do, they will be limited like my restocks, as I am one person with a limit of how much I can make.

I will announce if/when one is available on social media, and put a listing for a specific design on my website and an amount of spots available. It will ONLY be for THAT design in the photo and exactly as it is described in the listing. It is not a custom order of whatever you’d like.

When all spots are purchased, the preorder is full! They do not happen often, as I really enjoy restocks! If you purchase a preorder spot, it will be about 4-8 weeks until it ships as it is not made yet.

Pricing

My mugs generally cost between $100 - $250+ depending on the level of detailing, amount of 22k gold used, and crystal type if applicable. My work is unique, functional art for everyday life! Octopus mugs and fairy garden mugs generally in the higher end of the price range due to the extreme level of time and sculpting required. Golden crystal moon mugs are generally around $190. Handmade takes time, and the more intricate the piece, level of skill it requires, and cost of material is all reflected in the pricing. The exact price of each unique piece will be shown in my “preview” on my Instagram story the day before a restock is scheduled. Shipping is in addition to prices and varies depending on destination. I ship calculated USPS priority.
